WHAT IS A CATALYST?
A catalyst is a substance that increases the rate, or speed, of a reaction, at some temperature, without itself being transformed. A catalyst does this by reducing the energy required for the reaction to occur, thus saving energy, time and money.
WHAT IS A FUEL CATALYST?
Fuel catalyst is a heterogeneous or contact catalyst formed by mixing a number of metals. When petrol, diesel, oil and kerosene come into contact with the surface, it greatly improves combustion efficiency. The first patent for similar catalyst was taken out in the 1930's.
WHERE IS FUEL CAT FROM? HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN IN THE MARKET?
Fuel Cat is made in England, and has been in the market for more than 20 years and is exported to many countries worldwide.
APPLICATIONS.
The catalyst can either be dropped in the tank, or placed in a canister which fits into the fuel line.
It can be used with petrol, diesel, oil, bio diesel and LPG. Fuel Cat make units for anything from a petrol Lawnmower to an ocean going ship.
WILL FUEL CAT DAMAGE THE ENGINE OF THE CAR?
No, as the catalyst does not put anything into the fuel, but alters its structure. It breaks down chained/clustered hydrocarbon molecules of the fuel into bunches, so that more hydrocarbon molecules will be exposed to the oxygen molecules during combustion, thus enabling a more complete combustion of the fuel.
HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
A Fuel Cat will last 400,000 km./250,000 miles, e.g. It is definitely a one-time investment for your car. For generators etc, it will last 5000 hours or indefinately, where it can be cleaned.
ANY MAINTENANCE FOR THE FUEL CAT?
Fuel Cat is completely maintenance-free. Install it and let it do the magic
on its own. The units come with fitting instructions, so its simple.
AFTER INSTALLING FUEL CAT, WHY DO I NEED TO CHANGE MY ENGINE OIL AFTER THE
FIRST 2000KM?
Fuel Cat not only keeps your engine clean by preventing build up of carbon
deposits, but also clear away the existing carbon deposits in the combustion
chamber which can enter the engine oil. The engine oil can become
particularly dirty after
the first 2000km, therefore at this time the engine oil should be changed
and
thereafter should stay noticeably cleaner for longer.
(If you have just changed your engine oil & oil filter for less then 2
months,
you can wait till 4000km to have your next oil change)
HOW DOES FUEL CAT KEEP MY CAR ENGINE CLEAN?
Fuel Cat not only optimizes burning of fuel, but also keeps the engine clean
by
leaving no unburned fuel turning into carbon monoxide, unburned hydrocarbon
and
free carbon (as soot) emerge from the combustion process. The unburned
hydrocarbons and free carbon form gum or wax, and are loosely described as
carbon deposits, which are baked hard, in the combustion chamber, onto
piston
crown, valve heads (particularly the exhaust valve) spark plug and interior
surface of the combustion chamber. The piston ring can also be seriously
affected and eventually become stuck in their grooves.
Fuel Cat regulates the speed and temperature of combustion which prevents
Micro welding between valve and valve seats; thus preventing valve seat
recession.
IS IT TRUE THAT FUEL CAT CAN PROLONG THE LIFESPAN OF MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER?
Yes, Catalytic converter is a pollution-control device placed in the exhaust
system of an automobile. It takes the carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons that
are
given off as waste from the combustion of gasoline in the car's engine and
converts them into water and carbon dioxide gas. Since water and carbon
dioxide
cycle through the environment they are safer than carbon monoxide and
hydrocarbons, the converters also convert nitrous oxides into nitrogen gas
which
naturally makes up 78% of air.
Therefore, with the decrease in the emission of harmful gases like carbon
monoxide and hydrocarbons, Fuel Cat effectively prolongs the lifespan of
your
catalytic converter.
FUEL CAT IS IT SUITABLE FOR A NEW CAR or MOTORBIKE?
Yes. Highly recommended. Prevention is always better then cure, so it is
vital
to keep the new engine clean. With the installation of Fuel Cat will also
increase your mileage on your petrol or diesel, in many cases exceeding the
fuel economy
of your manufacturer's specification.
FUEL CAT IS IT SUITABLE FOR TURBO-CHARGED CAR?
Yes. Highly recommended. The effect of Fuel Cat on Turbocharged cars is
faster
exhaust velocity, (caused by greater fuel burning efficiency, giving a
higher
and smoother flow of exhaust gases) resulting in quicker spool-up, stronger
mid
and high-end pull, reduces lag and greater torque both on and off boost.
I AM RUNNING MY ENGINE ON THE HIGHEST GRADE GASOLINE IN THE MARKET. DO I
STILL
NEED FUEL CAT?
Yes. After the installation of Fuel Cat, you can drop one grade of gasoline
(from 98 to 95 or 95 to 92) and yet still achieve the power efficiency of
your
car performance. By maintaining the same grade of gasoline will enhance the
power efficiency of your car performance to a higher level, and also
increases
the mileage on your gasoline, achieving fuel economy.
Most importantly, Fuel Cat not only improve fuel economy but also provides a
progressive cleaning to your engine. Keeping your engine running in tip top
condition always, thus minimizing engine problem and ensuring longer
lifespan of
your car.
CAN I LEAVE FUEL CAT IN THE TANK, IF I DO NOT USE THE VEHICLE FOR A FEW
MONTHS?
Yes. One of the many properties the catalyst has, is that it stops fuel
degrading and gumming, which many new fuels do, after a fairly short period.
It also stops bacterial growth, which can be very expensive to eradicate.
Last but not least, Since 1988, Fuel Cat has helped in the conversion of
thousands of engines made to run on leaded petrol, to run on unleaded fuel,
without any adjustments or additives needed.
